A new blog!

Well, since I'm back in Korea I figured it was time to start posting to a PPP site again. And due to the technical difficulties with the original site, I thought it'd be easier to use a blog hosted by blogger... so here we are!

After a fun night at the Nouraybang on Yonge Street, and then dancing in Kensington Market, I headed back to Korea via Shanghai. Not the most direct route, but curiously enough, cheaper... I took off Friday morning, and, due to the magical nature of time and the shape of the planet and such, arrived in Shanghai on Saturday afternoon, after 15 hours flying time.

I spent 3 full days exploring Shanghai with Bertrand and his friends. We saw all the major sites (but no museums this time) like People's Square, Nanjing Road, the Bund, the view of Pudong New City (aka Astroboy city) at night from a rooftop bar, Old Town, the French Concession... and we spent our last day, Tuesday, exploring the nearby town of Suzhou, which is filled with temples and gardens.

And now I'm back in Ulsan. Strange how comfortable it felt to be back. Almost easier to slip back into than Toronto was... And I've had several job offers already, so I'm not terribly worried about finding work for November.

But, however much I enjoy it here, I always miss my friends back home. I just wish it was closer, or that we had those handy transporter beams from Star Trek that Chris ensures me are impossible...

Thanks to everyone for making my trip home so much fun, and so welcoming, and especially to Jess and Kierst/Ken for letting me stay with them.
